“Like the mountain range that stretches before you and me, let’s share the same trials and hardships together.” —— Wang Changling (The Chinese Famous Poet)
At this critical moment as people around the world battle the novel coronavirus, on May 19, a total of 400,000 disposable medical masks and 500 protective suits arrived at affiliated hospitals of four Japanese universities and other institutes of iFlash user association. Shenzhen YHLO Biotech Co., Ltd. (YHLO), JSR Corporation (JSR) and Medical & Biological Laboratories (MBL), as joint donors, attended the donation ceremony to hand over these supplies to help Japan fight the COVID-19 epidemic.
These 400,000 medical masks were produced by YHLO, a high-tech enterprise specialized in IVD immunoassay development over a decade. Since the outbreak of novel coronavirus, YHLO set up a GMP mask production line and has obtained the related CE, NMPA and Legal Export Qualification. The donated masks come from this GMP line.
The main object of this donation is members of iFlash User Association that was formed recently and comprised of four university hospitals (the University of Tokyo, Keio University, Kyoto University and Osaka University) and three research institutes (Isotope Science Center and Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology of the University of Tokyo, Tokyo Institute of General Medicine), to help their research and medical staff in fighting the coronavirus protect their safety and keep the local epidemic prevention and control running smoothly. Also, through the use of iFlash COVID-19 detection solution, the members will study SARS-CoV-2 IgM/IgG antibodies, set up a more accurate diagnostic method together with PCR test and call on more Japanese medical institutes to join them.
As of now, there are eight Japanese hospitals and institutes using iFlash COVID-19 detection solution. It may be the first time that IVD products made in China have been introduced by several top medical institutions in Japan, which are known for their strict standard. “Like the mountain range that stretches before you and me, let’s share the same trials and hardships together.” The novel coronavirus outbreak has given us a new understanding of life and community, and we have reached a consensus on the importance of cooperation in combating the pandemic.
